Saving Money/Power/Frustration/Diapers!

Wow! So, I'm officially feeling a bit slow.... Why did no one ever tell me how much money/power/frustration/diapers I could have saved if I used a drying rack?

I got my rack so I could sun diapers... But have discovered how awesome it is at drying diapers! I know, DUH! But really... I would have to run my diapers in the dryer for two "More Dry" cycles before- and sometimes they would still be damp! Now, I hang them overnight on my drying rack, and the next day, I throw them in the dryer for a "Less Dry" cycle, and they're DONE! It saves me all of the things in the title!

Hey, I look dumb for not realizing this before, but thought I would share in case anyone else hasn't invested in a rack yet. ;)

  1. The best way to clean cloth diapers is to pre-rinse them off in the toilet using a Bathroom Bidet Sprayer. So convenient and if you are trying to help the environment (and your pocket book) you can give it a double whammy by virtually eliminating toilet paper use at the same time as you use it on the diapers. Available at www.bathroomsprayers.com they come in an inexpensive kit and can be installed without a plumber. And after using one of these you won't know how you lasted all those years with wadded up handfuls of toilet paper. Now we're talking green and helping the environment without any pain.

  2. I take my rack with diapers and inserts right out to my back deck in the morning and in a couple of hours they are completely dry, smelling great, and white! But we are in GA so we get sun even in the winter.

  3. Mine are outside today doing the same thing! I washed them this morning, and they're just about dry now. Just a soften up in the dryer and they'll be gravy!!! :) :) :)

  4. I REALLY need a drying rack. I have diapers & cloths drying on hangers on doorknobs in my laundry room, it drives my DH nuts when he tries to close the doors.

  5. Haha, doorknob drying! My rack is flimsy, but it works, and it was only $10. ;) I've saved lots of money over drying in the dryer!
